Professional Summary: Hi, I'm Melissa, an academic, student, and sports medicine professional from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A "professional student" with a passion for books, I am passionate about sharing my love of knowledge and learning with everyone! :) I am the Head Athletic Trainer at Louisiana State University Laboratory School, where I serve as director of University Sports Medicine. Clinically, I am responsible for overseeing and providing athletic healthcare for all student - athletes. These responsibilities range from injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and overall wellness. Academically, I am a clinical preceptor at Louisiana State University in The Department of Kinesiology - Bachelor of Science, Athletic Training, Program. I currently mentor and oversee the clinical education for two undergraduate athletic training students. In addition, I am in charge of the University High School Sports Medicine program. This program provides high school students with rigorous, hands - on clinical experience in the medical field. I am a member of numerous organizations, both professional and of interest.
